How We Work

Brushy Fork works alongside leaders, organizations, and communities across Central Appalachia. Our work is based on listening, partnership, and practical support. We focus on helping leaders and organizations build their own skills, systems, and partnerships so their work can continue long after a program or project ends.

Our Approach

Your organization is unique.
The support you get should be too.

We don’t come in with a one-size-fits-all plan. We listen first. We ask organizations and communities what they need, what they are trying to accomplish, and what challenges they are facing.

Then we work alongside them to develop a plan, provide training or facilitation, and support them as they move their work forward.

What Working With Us Might Look Like

Step 1 – Conversation

We start with a conversation to learn about your organization, your goals, and what kind of support would be most helpful. Sometimes, this conversation starts after you take our Organizational Self-Assessment.

If eligible, our work together may fall under one of our current initiatives, learn more about those here. If not, our rate is $110 an hour.

Step 2 – Identify Priorities

We work together to identify priorities, challenges, and opportunities.

Step 3 – Plan the Work

We develop a plan that may include workshops, facilitation, coaching, planning sessions, or other support.

Step 4 – Do the Work, Together

We facilitate meetings, lead workshops, support planning processes, and provide tools and guidance.

Step 5 – Follow-Up and Support

We stay in touch and provide follow-up support to help new plans and systems take hold.
