What We Do

Brushy Fork Leadership Institute strengthens leadership, organizations, and communities across Central Appalachia through leadership programs, technical assistance and capacity building, and regional leadership initiatives.

We work with individuals, organizations, and communities depending on their goals and needs. Sometimes this looks like:

  • a leadership program or workshop;
  • strategic planning or board development for an organization; or
  • helping a community leadership team plan and implement a project.

Our work is practical, relationship-based, and focused on helping leaders and organizations move their work forward over time.

Leadership Programs

Leadership development programs, workshops, and community leadership initiatives that help leaders build skills, strengthen partnerships, and apply what they learn to real projects.

Technical Assistance

Support for nonprofits and organizations in areas like strategic planning, board development, leadership transitions, organizational assessments, and planning and evaluation.

The Leadership Gathering

A regional event that brings leaders together from across Central Appalachia to learn, connect, and share ideas about leadership, nonprofits, and community development.
